Here you can rate and discuss the third episode of Season 6, The Curse of the Black Spot.
T'Pol: I am not old, I will only be 66 years old on my next birthday.
Trip: I can't believe you told me that.
T'Pol: You accused me of being old.

I give it a 7, an old fashioned Doctor Who story, and one that was a lot of fun in places. It sagged badly in the middle but when it was on tune it worked very well. The final scenes aboard the alien ship was well done.

The entire episode felt very rushed but it was still fun.

I give it a 6/10.
Obi-Wan: "I felt a great disturbance in The Force. As if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced."
Me: "Let me guess, they saw Jar Jar Binks for the first time?" Wink

Very much the classic series idea of the 'base under siege' story but one that works for modern Who. Very well done indeed.

"We all change when you think about it, we're all different people, all through our lives, and that's okay, that’s good you gotta keep moving, so long as you remember all the people that you used to be." -Eleventh Doctor

Not great, but nowhere near bad. Definite problems with the pacing and the storytelling, and I'm not sure Steve Thompson wrote a very good Doctor. But certainly it's more than passable filler.

I enjoyed it as a Doctor Who episode, not much beyond that. Pirates aren't really my stuff anyway.

That really surprised me. I had low expectations, but I found that really quite good.

A really enjoyable, good old fashioned fun adventure! I had a bit of an issue with the CPR scene, but that aside, I loved it. I had low expectations for a standard piratey-rompy-jokey episode but I was pleasantly surprised.
Fry: "What was the purpose of life, anyway?"
Farnsworth: "Who knows? Probably some hogwash about the human spirit."

Enjoyable fluff, but felt like 30 minutes of script was stretched to fit a 45 minute time slot.
