A Song of Ice and Fire
Game of Thrones books
I want to start with the A Song of Ice and Fire series, the book series Game of Thrones is based upon. Has anyone here read them? How different are they from the TV show? Are they better/worse than the show? Are they a difficult read?
I've read them. Thumbsup

If you like the show, I most certainly suggest reading the books. One thing to remember is in the books, the charactors tend to be more morally gray than their show counterparts. As for being difficult, I never found them that diffcult but they are long.

As Wenty said, if you like the show you'll most likely enjoy the books. I've read the first three books, which correspond to seasons 1-4 of the show.
Fry: "What was the purpose of life, anyway?"
Farnsworth: "Who knows? Probably some hogwash about the human spirit."
Thanks guys.

BTW, what do you mean by "morally gray"?

In the books, many of the characters tend to make rather dark or questionable decisions and aren't cut and dry good or bad guys like in most other fantasies (Tyrion in particular).

Here are some more examples:
I am dead but I must still go to work. -The Sixth Sense
It's a good series if not long. I just wish Winds of Winter would come out already.
When nine hundred years old you reach, look as good you will not.
