Massive fish kill blankets Arkansas River
Quote:Arkansas officials are investigating the death of an estimated 100,000 fish in the state's northwest, but suspect disease was to blame, a state spokesman said Sunday.
Dead drum fish floated in the water and lined the banks of a 20-mile stretch of the Arkansas River near Ozark, about 125 miles northwest of Little Rock, said Keith Stephens of the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. A tugboat operator discovered the fish kill Thursday night, and fisheries officials collected some of the dying animals to conduct tests.
Stephens said fish kills occur every year, but the size of the latest one is unusual, and suggested some sort of disease was to blame.
Weird that this comes right after birds start dying, ain't it?
It's obvious, the end of the world is coming.

I heard they're blaming the weather and citing several other instances of smaller, but similar instances related to weather.
More dead birds, this time in Louisiana:
Mass La. bird deaths puzzle investigators
Quote:Hundreds of dead and dying birds littered a quarter-mile stretch of highway in Pointe Coupee Parish on Monday as motorists drove over and around them.
State biologists are trying to determine what led to the deaths of the estimated 500 red-winged blackbirds and starlings on La. 1 just down the road from Pointe Coupee Central High School.
The discovery of the dead birds — some of which were lying face down, clumped in groups, while others were face up with their wings outstretched and rigid legs pointing upward — comes just three days after more than 3,000 blackbirds rained down from the sky in Beebe, Ark.
Obviously 2012 is coming, so that must be it.

There was an earthquake in Arkansas so I'm guessing it's got to be a release of methane. Like in that lake in Cameroon that choked all the animals and people in the immediate vicinity around the lake. Doesn't explain the Louisiana story, but that probably is unrelated.
Okay, this is getting weird, now some birds died
in Sweden, though these might have been frightened by fireworks and landed on roads.

It's a shame we don't remember these crazies so we can ridicule the crap out of them when their predictions don't happen.

The entire country has been asking that for 175 years.
This is some weird stuff. Either that or these events are more common and its a slow news week.
this is all pretty weird...

The honey bees were dying a couple of years ago from a virus. Maybe a virus has developed...

40,000 Velvet crabs found washed up along UK shores
Quote:In yet another strange and unusual situation involving the deaths of animals, over 40,000 dead crabs have been discovered on the Kent coastline shores in the United Kingdom.
This is getting weird indeed...

Great Satans, have you ever thought that perhaps your birds, much like your population, are just too fat to fly?
