it seems any so-called "christan morals" seem not to matter when the bureaucracy of the church is expected to live up to them.

And from what I've heard, they routinely transferred known child rapists to new districts without telling anyone what they had done thus giving them a whole new batch of victims, and then did it again.
I can understand the Church is not democracy, but it also purports to be the Word of "god". Couldn't someone organize a letter writing campaign to the Vatican to at least protest? The Church has shown that it is apparently more concerned with protecting its public image than with stopping its own representatives from not only committing stuff that not only sinful (or so I've been told), but abusing innocent children while they're doing it. How does one reconcile that with whatever god or Jesus taught? Is everyone just shrugging and saying, "well, it wasn't in our area so we don't really care even though we say we believe in the Church as the Holy Institution of god on Earth"?
