I always see people talking about an total economic collapse coming, but honestly what would an total economic collapse look like? What would have to happen to be considered a "total economic collapse"? How would it affect the average American?
It would be the Great Depression all over again. High unemployment, civil unrest, lack of supplies (food, fuel, etc...), currency that is scarce or nearly worthless and probably higher crime rates.
All of this would possibly go on for years on end.
It would look like Haiti does right now, minus the destruction.
Are we talking about a total economic collapse in just the United States? Europe? Or the entire World?
In any case, I think this is a good question. My guess is it would be like Eagle described. There would be unrest, lack of government, maybe even a Civil War if thing got really bad.
