Has anyone ever read Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter? I have and I have to say it easily is one of my favourites SW books. It has the feel of the movies. Maul is depicted really well, as are the other characters.
Oh, yeah, it is one of my favorites. The Thrawn trilogy still tops it but Shadow Hunter is great in it's own kind. Maul shows his potential all in this story. I think he could have been one of the greatest Sith of all time had Obi-Wan not killed him. Had he lived longer, I think he would have been a formidable opponent againist Palpatine when it came time to kill his master.

Has anyone read the other Darth Maul story, Saboteur? It's included in the paperback of Shadow Hunter.
Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter is a fantastic book. The characters are fascinating and well-written, the pursuit is fun even after the first time, I wish there were more Star Wars novels like this one. I also like how it describes life in Coruscant as well deepens into the character of Darth Maul.

As a side note, the cover art rocks!
This was a great book! Sure everyone died, but you knew they had to from the beginning.
I loved it as well. Darth Maul seemed just like the way he does in the movies. I love the bad guys in general, so I like to get their side of things as well. Maul to me was different then the other Sith...he had been trained since a youth to be a Sith and was nothing but a one track mind... to hunt and destroy his prey.

Sadly Darth Maul died before becoming a Master. So we will never know his full dynamic.
I LOVE this book I like it when he bares his teeth at Hath Monchar, because I like villains that are sadistic. And when he gets angry at himself for missing with the deflected bolt, when it's slightly off-aim, it shows how disciplined he really is.

This book is easily one of the best Prequel-era book, along with Shatterpoint and the ROTS novelization.
It was an excellent book. The chase scenes were exhilarating. The lightsaber duels were well written. Lorn had a very interesting perspective on the jedi that I hadn't considered before. Also, Darth Maul seems like he refuse to think for himself. he only follows Sidious' orders. I know he's a great fighter, but I think he lack the ambition to be the greatest sith of all time.
This was the book that got me into the EU. With an action scene in the beginning, the book kept me glued through all the chapters! Its definitely the best of the prequel novels... and if you're a fan of the Sith or of Darth Maul, then this book is the best for you. It shows a lot of Maul's character that was left out of TPM, making him seem a little weaker than he really was. Makes it seem amazing that Obi-Wan lived...
